Great Leap of Faith

It was to be the beginning of a match made in fashion heaven between Woodies and Stone Island, one that to begin with was a struggle. Stone Island was elusive in the UK and even hard to come by on the frequent trips to Italy, fortunately this only made Bacon more determined to get his hands on something he knew would have jaws dropping and wallets popping all across Wales. Even once Woodies had this slick looking product they then had to persuade the clientele that it was an essential to any well-kept wardrobe. However Woodies persisted and persistence paid off with the G.F.T. Company taking a shine to Woodies and a little home in Wales giving Cardiff Armani and Stone Island and Woodies customer's instantly empty wallets but satisfied smiles.

This vision, intuition and determination to continue finding new and exciting products has characterised the growth and successes that Woodies has achieved since its inception and was behind the next great leap of faith for the Woodies Empire, the move across the water. In 1986 Woodies was firmly installed as part of the fashion furniture in Cardiff but not content to rest on his laurels Bacon had his eye on a quirky little property in Bristol. Not long after this Woodies has a sister store in the heart of the fashionable area of Bristol which was received with the same enthusiasm as the store in Cardiff, Woodies had mesmerised another town with its unique style. The store quickly became too small for the business it was doing and so Woodies upped and moved around the corner to a bigger site on the Queens Road where it has flourished ever since.
